Government Administration - Yangon, Yangon Region, Myanmar (Burma)
Teach for ASEAN (T4A) was started by a group of young, passionate people in Singapore who want to connect ASEAN Youths, grassroots organizations and good businesses together to attain the common vision of improving equity in education and access to decent employment. We piloted in Yangon, Myanmar in May 2017, and have since been working with organizations and individuals from different sectors to provide good education and employment opportunities for our beneficiaries through community events and training programmes. Ultimately, we strive to be a network of people, resources, and impactful ideas across ASEAN to achieve our Mission.Awards: 2018 YSEALI Seeds For the Future Winner=====Key Programmes// Project RunwayProject Runway is our educational programme for participating Myanmar students who are currently attending Grades 5 to 10. As a non-profit programme, Project Runway primarily targets disadvantaged children and youths.// Workplace Skills ProgrammeUnder Teach for ASEAN, Workplace Skills Programme (WPS) is a job-training-and-matching programme that strives to be the bridge between Myanmar youths and businesses in Myanmar. We train youths, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds, in workplace skills and match them with businesses/organizations that need skilled and good employees. With the exception of those re-taking their matriculation exams, 70% of our first cohort (15 students) are now currently being employed in good jobs or attending vocational training courses at partnering institutes.
