Teachers United was founded in 2011 by teachers in Washington state and is supported by local teachers, parents, students, community members and foundations. We are proud to say that Teachers United is run and governed by teachers who share the belief that every student deserves an excellent teacher. In order to ensure that, we develop great educators to become leaders in building a public school system worthy of attracting and retaining the best possible teachers. It's what is best for students. Early in 2015, Teachers United dissolved as a non-profit based in Seattle and has begun to focus its attention in the South Sound as a grassroots organization committed to the following mission: Equity. Excellence. Ed-Driven.
