Teachers Without Borders Greece is a unique non-profit organization with an educational character. The idea was born in 2009 after realizing that there are many areas in Greece (initially) that did not have the opportunity to be trained and educated efficiently and effectively. The name sourced from the well known and established concept of the doctors without frontiers, however our concept differs. TwB selects areas in need in terms of education / knowledge and travels to offer a free workshop / seminar (usually a full day). The venues are picked in coordination with the mayors and educators of the areas selected and in some cases the topics to be covered. Material if offered for free as well. Funding has been provided by TwB's founder, Dr. Constantine Kiritsis and the organization expects to be supported by sponsors (foundations) from 2014. TwB also supports Teachers Without Borders globally as we also felt that our work will eventually need to be expanded (our model differs).The whole team at TwB feels that education & entrepreneurship are basic pillars towards progress and we also believe in their motivational and inspirational value when delivered personally (and blended with the enormous potential of the internet). We are looking for individuals for other countries in order to expand internationally.
