Team Arrow operating under SAE Collegiate club represents the Nirma University at various national and international competitions held for RC planes.Our VisionTo serve as centre of excellence for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles development and research for welfare of society and nation, that is recognised globally for its quality of technologyOur missionTo learn and build technical and managerial skills in all team members for overall development. To conduct basic and applied research and for best performance at competition and generate intellectual property.To establish linkages with prestigious institutes and research organization globally.About usThe team basically participates in the two competitions:1) Society of Automotive Engineers India Southern Section, Aero Design Challenge in short SAEISS ADC. (National Level Competition)2)Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International Students Unmanned Aerial Systems competition in short AUVSI SUAS held at Maryland, USA since 2018. (International Level Competition)Owing to which we have now been able to diversify our team to many branches of engineering including ME, CS, IC, EC, EE, and IT making it a multi-disciplinary team.In all we have built about 15 successful drones and gliders till date. Our moto for the same can be put in sentence as "Courses teach us theory, competition makes us engineers".The above competitions help our students to sharpen their all kind of skills. This is due to opportunities presented to us to present ourselves not only in the university but also at various fairs. The most memorable one's are Makers Fest Vadodara at MS University as well as Praveg held by MESA each year. Apart from this the students are allowed to showcase their presentation skills by allowing them to find sponsors outside the campus as well. At the moment we have had tie ups with Inner Engineering- Insulations material suppliers, Ahmedabad and also with SolidWorks CAD Software Company.
