We are a 501c3 public charity that creates opportunities and resources for technological and entrepreneurial education!Our roots stretch back to the creation of HackDuke: Code for Good in 2014. The next year, as the premier social impact hackathon, we hosted 1,000 participants from 3 continents at Duke University on November 7-8.Starting in January 2017, we set out to create a robust hackathon environment in the South Central United States by launching events for several campuses while mentoring and training organization teams. Our beneficiaries include:* Baylor University* North American University* Oklahoma State University* Reykjavík University* Rice University* Southern Methodist University* Texas A&M University* Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science* Texas Christian University* Texas Southern University* University of Arkansas* University of Houston* University of Iceland* University of North Texas* University of Oklahoma* University of Texas at Arlington* University of Texas at Dallas* University of Texas at San AntonioAfter passing the events off to mature organization teams on each campus and expanding internationally into Iceland, we adapted our company for online operations within a week in anticipation of a national emergency in response to the worsening global coronavirus crisis.In only 7 days, we signed 3 sponsors (including Devpost), then launched and completed the first American anti-coronavirus hackathon, 3 · 2 · 1 · HackCOVID, with the mission to combine technology, medicine, entrepreneurship, and education to DEFEAT CORONAVIRUS.As long as this war against coronavirus rages on, Tech Tree Root will continue to host HackCOVID every weekend.
