Technicality is an educational YouTube channel about science, humanities, and anything I find fascinating. I (Alex Nickel) started Technicality 5 years ago when I was studying blended learning and using educational videos in the classroom; my goal was to create content that communicates science in an engaging way. Since then, I've researched, scripted, filmed, hosted, edited, and published over 70 episodes on everything from psychology to history to physics. Technicality has gained over 49,000 subscribers and millions of total views. I've been mentioned on websites like Huffington Post and Mashable, and I've worked with YouTubers such as Physics Girl, Tom Scott, Counter Arguments, and others. In December 2017, I was selected by Bethany Mota and CBS's Undercover Boss as one of four up-and-coming YouTubers who will be the next big YouTube stars. I am the youngest member of Standard, a management company for educational YouTubers, and maintain business relationships with brands like Squarespace, Brilliant.org, Skillshare, and more. Additional responsibilities include running a Patreon account, advertising my videos, networking, and analyzing social media data and viewer analytics. Technicality videos have been shown in schools and universities all over the world.
