Hello! My name is Theodore Matthews and I am the founder of Ted's Tutoring. Originally from Englewood NJ, I graduated from Stanford University in 2014 with a degree in economics. Immediately after graduation, I began tutoring students in Bergen County and New York City. I then moved to Hillsborough NJ, where I work with students from Somerset, Mercer and Middlesex counties.I began using Wyzant, an online tutoring platform, to connect with my students. Establishing a solid relationship and building their confidence are foundational. Then, reinforcing my students strengths and diagnosing their areas for improvement, allows me to prepare them for unfamiliar challenges they may face in the future. Once equipped with the confidence, skills and tools, my students begin to realize there is no problem they find "too hard." In fact, they become hungry for more difficult challenges. And for me, that is the most rewarding aspect of tutoring.
