At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.About TEDx Mimas Street :TEDxMimasStreet is a platform for each individual in Homs who has a vision or idea worth spreading. We believe in the power of ideas and its role in making a change in our community, and in giving each person the chance to express his point of views. The war in Syria has destroyed many dreams, morals, and passion in almost every one living here. At the time when all current reconstruction efforts are targeting to rehabilitate the buildings and cities only, regardless the real people needs. Therefore we were inspired to offer a space for each person to share his views and dreams, and to give hope to the people living here. To put the first step in re-enabling our role as humans, and give back our ideas its accrued value.
