To celebrate the TEDx vision, the mission of TEDxMtSAC(Mt. San Antonio College) is to spread innovative and inspirational notions to the community. TEDxMtSAC is a one-day event held at Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC). TEDxMtSAC is committed to capture the spirit of transforming communities, promoting localism, and engaging residents. Because Mt. SAC serves a student population – 53% Hispanic, 20% Asian-Americans and Pacific-Islander, 13% Caucasian, 4% African-American, and 0.2% Indian-American and Alaskan Native – TEDxMtSAC is dedicated to ensure the speakers of color and of marginalized identities to be heard. Therefore, our purpose of hosting TEDxMtSAC is to bring a diverse and fresh set of voices of the members from the greater Los Angeles communities.What's the difference between TED and TEDx?TEDx offers individuals or groups a way to host local, self-organized events around the world. According to TEDx rules, "The 'x' in 'TEDx' stands for 'independently organized events.' Any headline or text which implies 'TED' is coming to Mt. SAC is misleading [and, in turn, is not allowed].
