TEDxPotomac is an educational event to be held in Washington, D.C. in late May, 2010. We are licensed by TED.com, and following its example, are seeking to improve the world through the power of great ideas. Our program will highlight diverse, thought-provoking presenters that demonstrate innovation, provide inspiration and spark insight. We are specifically looking beyond the realm of DC's stock and trade – politics – to other industries that DC leads: biotech, space, public health, international development, information technology, education, architecture, and more. There is no political agenda, and no company or product will be promoted. More details: * This will be a free, all-day event from 8:30 – 5 p.m. * Target dates are Thursday, May 20th or Monday May 24th, depending on venue availability. * We anticipate between 500 – 600 participants. * Participants will be required to apply to attend. * We are seeking sponsors that meet TED guidelines to cover expenses. TEDxPotomac is entirely volunteer-organized and no party is benefitting financially from the event.
