TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. It hosts two annual conferences — the TED Conference in Vancouver BC in spring, and the TEDGlobal conference in Rio in fall — and launched the award-winning TED Talks video site, the Open Translation Project and TED Conversations, the TED Fellows and TEDx programs, and the annual TED Prize. bring together the world's most fascinating thinkers and doers, who are challenged to give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes or less.TEDx was created in the spirit of TED's mission, "ideas worth spreading." TEDx events are fully planned and coordinated independently, bringing people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxTurtleRock, where x = independently organized TED event.TEDxTurtleRock is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience, where x=independently organized TED event. The TED conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. TEDxTurtleRock is currently partnered with XXXX non-profit organization who is recognized as a 501 (c)(3) tax except organization by the Internal Revenue Service.
