TEDxYaba is an independent TEDx event operated under license from TED. Last year, TEDxYaba sought to stimulate conversations around our collective past in order to chart a course for the future. The event featured insightful talks from accomplished Nigerians including Omobola Johnson (Senior Partner, TLCom/Nigeria's Former ICT Minister), Maryam Uwais (Special Adviser to the President on Social Protection), Tunji Lardner (TED Fellow/Executive Director, WANGONeT), TY Bello (Singer, Songwriter, Photographer), Seni Sulyman (VP, Global Operations at Andela), Lala Akindoju (Actress, Producer, Casting Director), Godwin Benson (Founder of Tuteria and 2017 winner of the Royal Academy of Engineering Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation), Ade Balogun (Chief Loc Officer, Locitude), Folakunle Oshun (Artistic Director, Lagos Biennial) and Judith Okonkwo (Founder, Imisi3D and organiser of Nigeria's first virtual reality hackathon).
