Tembo Power Holdings is a limited liability company developing power generation projects across sub-Saharan Africa, with a strong focus on small to medium sized run of river hydropower plants. Our current portfolio consists of 10 projects ranging between 9 to 32MW of expecting installed capacity, and totaling 187MW. Development has originated back in 2013 for the most mature projects, which are developedin clusters for economy of scale purposes, and spread in 3 countries; Kenya, Burundi and DRC. The team has recently been strengthened by adding financial advisory and engineering capabilities, on top of being advised by the most reputable legal, technical and E&S advisors in our field. Tembo Power is now restructuring operations into a fund manager, Tembo Investment Partners. Its first fund vehicle, Tembo Hydro Fund I, shall finance the equity requirements of the current portfolio, while our Kaptis 15MW scheme in Western Kenya will have broken ground already. Our goal is to reach first closing of Tembo Hydro Fund I by the third quarter of 2020.
