For the first time in over fifty years the East Coast of the United States lacks a purpose-built space suitable to record film scores, Broadway show cast albums, or classical music sessions. Without a Managed Entertainment Production Center revenue for the industry and taxes for NYC and the State are going elsewhere; musicians, actors, technicians, composers, and producers are missing out on income that could make their chosen professions economically viable; NYC is losing its reputation as a prestigious recording venue.TEMPO (The Entertainment and Music Production Organization) has a mission to a develop, fund-raise and build a music and entertainment production center that will allow composers, music and broadcast producers of Television/Radio, and song-writer teams to use the industry-based talent in the New York metropolitan area once again.Under the leadership of Chris Bubacz, former general manager of Manhattan's Legacy Recording Studio, and with the fundraising expertise of Susan Abrahamson, a former fundraising director for the Kennedy Center, and with Dwayne Condon and Kathryn Amyotte, Co-founders of The New York Film Chorale, TEMPO envisions a creative center that provides a cutting- edge creative environment for entertainment production and recording, purpose-built to house varied groups of entertainment professionals under one roof. TEMPO sets itself apart from other recording studios and scoring stages with its business model. The managed entertainment production center model generates revenue by long-term leasing of purpose built space to creative professionals instead of limiting revenue to per hour rentals. This new business model provides space for composers and producers akin to the new commercial real estate model.
