Tender Heart Education Society established in the year 1995 is an NGO located in the outskirts of the city Faridabad. Our mission is TO EDUCATE disadvantaged children, children with special educational needs through running both a village school and an after school programme for the slum children, which is referred as WOOPIE (Way-Out-Of-Poverty-Is-Education);TO EMPOWER underprivileged women and special needs children by providing vocational training and creating employment opportunities; TO ENGAGE local community and volunteers in helping us achieve our mission of alleviating poverty in this rural belt of Faridabad. OUR PROJECTS RURAL EDUCATION- Tender Heart School educates over 250 rural children. It provides holistic education with a strong academic background, along with training in computers, art and music. WOMEN EMPOWERMENT UNIT- To empower the women of the villages and make them economically independent, this unit provides Vocational Training. They produce handcrafted products such as bags, laptop cases, wallets, wall hangings, scarves, folders, jewellery etc. along with tailoring. DIFFERENTLY-ABLED PROGRAMME- Tender Heart School has a special school for intellectually challenged children under the PWD Act 1995 in Dist. Faridabad providing special education to 62 children in the regular school and 75 children from the district for the vocational and sports training. Our students have been representing India at the Special Olympics, and till date they have won 13 medals, which includes 4 Gold. Tender Heart is a certified computer centre for special needs children, and also has been granted ‘Khel Nursery' in Handball under Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs. We train them to make products such as Aggarbati, Chalk, Dona, Candles, Madhubani Painting, Worli Art, Diary etc. Currently, the children are also being trained in Horticulture. WOOPIE- Way-Out-Of-Poverty-Is-Education is a after school programme which concentrates on educating the slum children.
