Since 2006 we are driving the development of biocoal and carbonization technologies and their industrial implementation together with our partners. They provide sustainability and enable circular economy.Our technology is based on Hydrothermal Carbonization of the biowaste material at elevated temperatures of 170-200°C. This enables us to offer today the following solutions to our customers:For waste water companies we perform a thermal treatment of waste water sludge, which allows for the most efficient and most hygienic sludge drying process in the industry. This safes transportation and disposal cost for an economic implementation. Furthermore we enable the recovery of valuable Phosphorous from such sludge and boost the biogas production in sludge digestion plants.For the biowaste sector we upgrade organic waste material to biocoal as a renewable fuel and extract humic liquid fertilizer. This avoids disposal on landfills with uncontrolled emissions of Methane and Nitrous Oxide, both highly effective greenhouse gases.In biogas projects we add another value chain to the digestate by upgrading it into biocoal that can be used in cement kilns or power plants for the production of renewable energy. At the same time we offer an alternative to conventional soil applications that can lead to Nitrate leaching into the ground water.Hydrothermal Carbonization is a promising platform technology with multifold advanced applications: from advanced electrode materials for Hydrogen electrolysis or super capacitors to renewable feedstock materials as alternative for the chemical and petro-chemical industry.
