Terrier Motorsport is a student-run organization building a fully electric formula-style car from scratch at Boston University. The team designs and constructs new race cars to compete each year against other universities at New Hampshire International Motor Speedway.Team members are responsible for conducting design work based on Formula Hybrid+Electric rules requirements and internal team objectives. Members regularly use Solidworks for modeling, FEA, and producing design drawings. Many members also conduct CFD analysis on aerodynamic components using Ansys.Even though the competition is part of the big goal, our primary goal is to have a fun engineering experience to prepare for the future and grow teamwork skills.Terrier Motorsport is not only for Engineering students but anyone interested in learning new skills. In fact, in 2022, about 30% of members are from the College of Art and Science, and 15% are from Questrom Business.Terrier Motorsport consists of Six Sub-Team: Wheels, Powertrain, Aerodynamics, Suspension-Chassis, Electrical, and Project Management teams. Each team has its projects, and you can find some of their work in our post.If you are interested in supporting us, feel free to reach out to us at butm@bu.edu.We are also happy to work with other universities even if your team competes in the same competition because we all believe the best way to learn is by sharing our knowledge and learning from others. If you are a Boston University student and want to join the team, reach out to butm@bu.edu or fill out the New Recruit Form on Instagram using the BU email. We will be at the Boston University Splash in both early September and January, where any BU students can learn more about student organizations on campus.
