MULTI-PURPOSE ARCHITECTURAL PANELS IN A WIDE RANGE OF DESIGNSTesora Design was founded by husband and wife team, artist and garden designer Victoria Granger and engineer Damian Taylor. Both believe there is little room for purely decorative items in the typical house or garden today. Additionally, advances in technology mean that many more core functional items can now be made beautiful without compromise - so form and function can be given equal value and be developed in tandem. All our products are designed in London and manufactured in Britain.Laser cutting is not a new phenomenon, and architects and interior designers have long been using it to enhance many high end projects. Many of us have clothes or knick knacks which have been laser cut as the technique allows for work of superb delicacy. However, in larger objects, it has remained extremely expensive and therefore very exclusive. While renovating their own home, Victoria and Damian made good use of laser cut steel in an external staircase. It was just as beautiful as cast iron alternatives, but significantly cheaper and also lighter. Victoria had long been frustrated by the limited and rather conservative options for fencing/trellis and screening in the garden, and staring at the beautiful staircase everyday inspired her to start creating a new type of trellis - seamless, strong but light. However, the price would have remained exorbitant.Fortunately Damian was struck by the possibilities of taking these designs and using them as general architectural panels, flexible and modular. They could be used indoors, or outdoors. They could be used as sculptural pieces, trellis, fencing, screens, room dividers, security, balcony panels amongst other things. Since the panels could have so many different uses, it became possible to have longer manufacturing runs - meaning the cost per panel fell, and beautiful laser cut steel could reach a wider audience.
