Nonprofit Organization Management - Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands
TETI Foundation offers a platform for students and young entrepreneurs to establish targeted and effective international development projects. This will be achieved through the following two points:Utilizing the unique skills and competences of the volunteersMany organisations ask for a large sum of money to be able to participate in projects, and people often feel they are asked to do trivial things, which do not necessarily make use of their personal and professional expertise. Additionally, they feel that in some programmes the focus seems to be more on the personal development of the volunteer, than on truly offering focussed and targeted aid. Developing one's own project seems a good alternative; the diverse talents and skills can be used to reach the mutual goal.Ensuring the fit of the projects within the explicit needs formulated by a communityEven the greatest project can fail to be effective if there is no real demand for it in the targeted region. It is important to TETI Foundation that projects are not merely established from a Western point of view; What do communities themselves feel that is needed, in what regions, why, and how can this best be done? To ensure that projects answer to these questions, TETI Foundation has relationships with partners in the regions they will take place. These ‘local partners' could be other NGOs, universities, research institutes, small start-ups, etc. Because of their extensive knowledge of the region, these partners will help develop and implement the projects, ensuring that they fit within the explicit needs formulated by a community.By combining the motivation, ideas, and specific skills of the volunteers with the regional knowledge and expertise of organisations in development countries themselves, TETI Foundation offers a platform where informed, targeted and effective projects can thrive.
