The Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame honors those men and women who have shown excellence in the sport, business and support of rodeo and the western lifestyle in Texas. The museum is located in the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards and houses the Sterquell Wagon Collection, John Justin Trail of Fame, Chisholm Trail Exhibit and Zigrang Horse Bit Collection along with the Hall of Fame. Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame is also currently home to the Applewhite-Clark Exhibit. This exhibit features items attributed to General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna, Colonel John Coffee Hays, Captain Samuel H. Walker & Quanah Parker.There are currently over 130 members of the Hall of Fame. Each has their own booth filled with memorabilia and DVD of professional highlights. Induction into the Hall of Fame is held every January on the Thursday night prior to the start of the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo. The Induction Ceremony also serves as the largest fundraiser for the museum of the year.Through its partnership in the Stockyards 4 Hours of Fun program, the museum plays host to over 30,000 school children every year.
