Texas Forensic Nurse Examiner's is a mobile, community-based forensic nursing program that works closely with community partners in law enforcement, health care and social services to address the service gaps victims have encountered for many years. Our forensic nurses specialize in trauma care for victims of violence and are highly trained in the evidence collection and storage protocols impacting the medical forensic exam. We partner with hospitals and clinics by providing forensic nurses when needed. This is a significant support for hospitals, law enforcement and victims because timely exams, completed by specially trained nurses helps victims get the services they need during a crisis and supports any legal recourse they may choose to take. This pioneering approach dramatically improves the care for victims of violence in our community.
