Texas Writers Co-op Details
The mission of Texas Writers Co-op is to provide affordable physical space that is free of distractions where writers can focus on writing in the company of other writers. Texas Writers Co-op is initially accepting applications from female writers only, to fill six spaces in a residential property just outside northwest Houston (Copperfield area, near 290 & 6). {attach a map} Each member will choose a space of her own, at a cost of $250 per month. The spaces are versatile, suitable for keeping office hours, taking up residence, or something in between. {Attach photos of house} {Attach app here}The formation of a statewide network of locations is the current goal of Texas Writers Co-op. Its future will be determined collectively by its membership as the network grows. Some early ideas: (1) A Writer Exchange program through which members can trade places for a time, for reasons such as getting revitalized through a change of scenery, or to be on location for a specific project. (2) A publication to showcase our work. (3) Weekend workshops for public consumption. (4) Provide certain member-only services to each other.
