Textile Testing & Innovation, LLC (TTI) is a research & development company. TTI has developed solutions for thermal energy storage and an improved thermal management of products based on the application of phase change material (PCM). For instance, TTI has created a proprietary database covering 200+ PCMs from various suppliers. These PCMs comprise paraffins, salt hydrates, fatty acids, organic materials, and eutectics. In order to select the appropriate PCM for a given application and to calculate the amount of PCM necessary to obtain desired thermal energy storage effects, a proprietary computer simulation and calculation procedure has been established by TTI. This procedure has been utilized in more than 100 different projects. In addition, TTI has created a variety of testing procedures to quantify thermal performance and evaluate products equipped with PCM.In the past, technical solutions related to the application of PCM often failed due to the lack of suitable containment. TTI has overcome this problem by developing polymeric compounds in which the PCM can be cross-linked during the production process, which leads to a durable containment. All of TTI's proprietary containment solutions are cost effective and easy to implement. By utilizing these PCM compounds, various end-use products such as automotive components, building materials, protective garments, medical supplies, and packaging systems have been developed.TTI's operations are currently focussed on testing products equipped with PCM, helping customers to achive their goals in developing new products with PCM through consultations, modelling as well as research activities, and licensing of existing, patented technology.
