TEZCAZUL'S LINETequila Tezcazul is a hand crafted in the small pueblo of Amatitán Jalisco, Mexico. Some consider this loca-tion to be the true birthplace of the well-known Mexican spirit. A historic region where fields of majestic Blue Agave extend upward from the volcanic red soil to the sun-drenched skies above. Standing proud for approx-imately seven years, these spiritual, organically grown plants are then harvested for their magical hearts (pi-ñas) and cooked in a traditional brick and stone oven for two days to create the sweet nectar (pulque) of the Aztec gods. Soon after natural fermentation, small batches of pure, organic Blanco Tequila is produced. Per-fect for signature hand crafted cocktails or consumed directly, this natural, high quality Blanco Tequila also becomes the essential foundation for our well rested and aged Tequila varietals. (Reposado, Añejo and Extra Añejo)TEZCAZUL'S MEANINGOur brand, "TEZCAZUL" WAS BORN FROM HOMAGE TO THE ANCIENT AZTEC GOD "TEZCATLIPOCA", who sometimes is referred to as the Smoking Mirror, God of the Nocturnal Sky, and God of the Ancestral Memory. Tezcatlipoca delighted in overturning the order of things, causing conflict and confusion. But, often times these disruptions were also a great source of creative energy and positive change. Tezcatlipoca is also some-times referred to as "BLUE TEZCATLIPOCA", the association for which the Spanish word "Azul" was added to our brand and labeling.
