Thames Examinations is an independent provider of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) examinations for younger learners. Based in the UK's second city, Birmingham, we have established a solid reputation for our high quality test development and administration services since 2001.Our carefully structured suite of exams, consisting of eight levels, prepares younger learners to take other EFL exams such as FCE, IGCSE and IELTS, which are valid for international study, employment and immigration purposes. The Thames Examinations suite takes younger learners from Beginner level to Upper Intermediate level. All levels include a Reading, English Usage and Writing section and Levels 4 to 8 also have a compulsory Listening and Speaking component. The speaking tests are administered and assessed in-country by native speaker examiners, who are usually based in the UK.Our exams are normally taken in June and all candidates are awarded a certificate, which is valid for life. The highest performing candidates at each test centre are awarded either a bronze, silver or gold medal and issued with a medal winner's certificate.
