The next 10 years of change has already begun. Virtualization has moved from the enterprise and into the network. Spectrum allocation has moved from exclusive use to shared use. LTE and 5G is moving from carrier scale to enterprise scale. Digital infrastructure has evolved from vertical to horizontal and from macro to micro. And there's more. The speed of change can leave you, well, short of breath. Our response is to form a new partnership. We call it The 2030 Project: a new iteration of business media focused on building a community of like-minded vendors, end users, influencers, enterprise IT managers, executives and other decision-makers who support the changing wired, wireless and digital ecosystem. The 2030 Project is a new partnership between Tim Downs (SmartGig Media), Matthew Vartabedian and Iain Gillott (of iGR). We have known each other for years; we share similar perspective; we look forward to disruptive trends; and our skills are complementary in such a way that allows us to offer more value to our customers. Ours is a unique alliance of similar minds and dissimilar expertise, the purpose of which is to help navigate the next 10 years in mobile and telecom. We have designed The 2030 Project to be a skunkworks for new ideas, new information products (including live events) and innovative approaches to meeting, sharing ideas, learning and collaborating. The industries we have served for twenty years are evolving. The entire mobile supply chain itself is undergoing a huge transformation: from hardware to software; from licensed vs unlicensed to spectrum sharing; from commercial LTE to private/enterprise LTE. Now, every business; every organization; every school or government can get in on the LTE act. It's similar with digital infrastructure. Going forward every real estate owner/investor/developer, data center owner/operator/investor, municipal owner/operator/investor, and school/home builder will participate in the business of 5G.
