The 72 Project involves a team of filmmakers shooting and editing a feature length film in 72 consecutive hours and then screening it at the end to an audience. What many people call the ‘pre-production' is done beforehand, but the ‘production' and the ‘post-production' are squeezed into those three days. The process aims to inspire filmmakers, encourage collaboration and demystify the production process. Instead of working on a short film individually, in competition with other filmmakers, this project asks filmmakers to work together to create something that no person could achieve alone. It is an empowering process.
