Founded in 1980, we have the oldest breast cancer hotline in the country, staffed by professionally trained and supervised volunteers; most are breast cancer survivors. Social workers offer professional counseling, support groups (in English and Spanish) and educational programs. Our program has also expanded to medically underserved communities with education and access to care in order to improve health outcomes. Bilingual social work services, patient navigation and referrals are provided to underserved patients diagnosed with breast cancer. Our Sisters United in Health project collaborates with local organizations and provides community outreach, breast health education and cancer screening referrals. All of our services are free and confidential.
