The Aegis Institute is Gainesville, Florida's up-and-coming new non-profit high school for accelerated, innovative, and affordable education to children of all socioeconomic backgrounds. We hope that every person has the opportunity to have something that is at the heart of their being tested, something so important to them that should it be lost they will not feel that they are human anymore. To have your understanding of reality tested and to be proven wrong is the liberation science provides to all in equal measure should they be willing to work for its wisdom. We wish to bring this liberation to the minds of new generations. Today, this essential experience has been relegated to university education, if it ever happens at all. We believe exposure to classical and modern research, fundamental and innovative experimentation, educated and inquisitive criticism in the sciences, maths, and humanities should happen earlier in life, recognizing the innate curiosity and intellectual potential of youth. Thus, our school aims to foster the pursuit of truth and the methodologies of proof in secondary education. We seek to offer an integrative, immersive curriculum that allows a student to walk out of one class and put those skills to work in another class. We wish to foster the spirit of inquiry and inspire compassion and empathy among students. We believe the most important aspect of education is to light the way to the best version of ourselves. Much of our course of study emphasizes interconnections between disciplines, collaborative efforts, experimentation, and the extraordinary nature of reality. Education is the most profound infrastructure investment. It provides guidance and latitude for both societal and individual development. We intend to bring together critical reasoning, curiosity, and compassion to create the most innovative and challenging intellectual experience for students that humanity has yet attempted.
