Agape Volunteers is a registered charity that provides humanitarian aid and support to Africa through volunteering programmes and long term grants and donations. We also offer a wide range of extra activities such as safaris and mountain climbing, as well as bespoke travel insurance. The Agape Volunteers team is made up of people who have volunteered in the past, predominantly people who have spent years striving to improve the quality of life for people in Africa. Our experience is second to none, and we know what it takes to provide a quality, affordable and safe volunteering experience that really helps those in need. All of our projects have been chosen through the vision of volunteers, seeing the potential for help and change; where we can help, we are keen to support projects in areas where we feel volunteers could make a fantastic difference. We are committed to making sure as many people are able to take advantage of this opportunity as is possible. Despite being registered as a charity in the U.K., we also hold registrations in Kenya, Ghana, South Africa and Tanzania, where most of our work takes place. The UK team consists of around 15 members of staff, most of which use their experience from volunteering with Agape to help future volunteers plan their placements with us. Also,the UK team has around 50 university representatives who help share the good work that Agape does with fellow students with the aim to getting more people involved and spread the word of the important work that we do. As well as the UK team, invaluable work is done by the staff in the countries we operate in, helping make sure the projects we support all run smoothly. The jobs of the in country teams varies from organising placements, hosting volunteers to picking them up and dropping them off at airports, they all work together to ensure volunteers have a safe, enjoyable and rewarding time.
