The AIDS Network is a registered charitable organization that offers services and education to people living in the communities of Hamilton, Halton, Haldimand, Norfolk and Brant.Established in 1986, we are the only organization in the region that offers services and support to men, women, children and families who have been affected by HIV/AIDS.With people in our community being diagnosed with HIV/AIDS every week, our organization is committed to addressing HIV/AIDS through education and support.Our MissionThe AIDS Network responds to the impact of HIV on the health and well-being of individuals and diverse communities in Hamilton, Halton, Haldimand, Norfolk and Brant. Our VisionWe see a world without new infections, and a full and healthy life for people living with and vulnerable to HIV.For people living with HIV we provide: Individual, home-cooked meals An emergency food bank A food box program Transportation support to medical appointments Access to YMCA fitness facilities Support groups Referrals (ie to housing agencies or employment training) Complimentary therapies (including reiki and acupuncture) One-on-one CounsellingTrained counselors provide a listening ear for: People living with HIV/AIDS People affected by HIV/AIDS People who are at-risk for HIV infection We offer Harm Reduction Services for people living with HIV and their families.We Have Fun TooThe AIDS Network hosts numerous social activities throughout the year.These include: Summer picnic and Holiday Party Social support groups
