Individual & Family Services - Newark, New Jersey, United States
With over 36 years of service, The Apostles' House remains a cornerstone social service agency in the City of Newark, providing a stable, safe, drug-free environment where parents and children receive comprehensive social services to improve their physical, emotional, social and financial quality of life. Our roots date back to 1982, when The House of Prayer Episcopal Church in Newark, in cooperation with five other parishes (Trinity Cathedral, Christ Church Short Hills, St Luke's Montclair, St. George's Maplewood and St. Phillips Newark) in the Episcopal Diocese of Newark, came together and established a family emergency shelter called, "The Apostles' House". The organization grew out of their care and concerned for the hundreds of people who were wondering the streets of Essex County, homeless and hungry.
