Described in traditional terms, pyrography is the art of painting with fire; wood-burning. Unlike most forms of art where paint or ink is applied to a surface, pyrography involves gliding a small heated metal tool on a wooden surface, slowly revealing the darkened tone of the wood as the image emerges. I liken the procedure to "painting with heat. My style is quite representational in that I work hard to capture the authenticity of my subject's anatomy as well as the spirit of its character.
