The Art of the Green New Deal is a next generation journal of creative culture shift chronicling the creative endeavors based around the vision set forth in U.S. House Resolution 109 - Recognizing the duty of the Federal Government to create a Green New Deal. The idea that started as a play on the 45th U.S. president's iconic and ironic book title began to take shape during a Green New Deal Create-a-thon during which artists, writers, technologists, organizers, and other creatives came together to launch new projects that would explore creative and outside-the-box ways to get folks talking, thinking, and dreaming about how a Green New Deal could transition our nation into a society where everyone can thrive. In addition to highlighting the resolution's various interconnected pillars — from clean energy and sustainable food systems to social/economic equity and community resiliency — the journal is meant to be a showcase for the creative human engagement that will be needed to power a shift in collective cultural consciousness commensurate with the scale of the proposed structural and societal transformations. The works, movements, and narratives featured on this hub will also serve to make the case for adding a WPA-style arts program to the list of GND policies, as well as to compile a go-to library of quality creative assets that would be natural candidates for such a program.
