The Australian Egyptian Forum Council was formed in 1990 and represents the interests of the Egyptian community in NSW with the objectives of: Promote the Egyptian heritage and culture in Australia;Encourage and develop good relations with other communities working towards the spirit of a multi-cultural Australia;Enhance and further the development of relations between Egypt and Australia both on formal and informal government and NGOs levels; andEncourage and promote the participation of Egyptian youth in the wider Australian community. The Australian Egyptian Forum Council is an active multi cultural organisation across several community service areas and has produced some outstanding achievements including: - Honour our young achievers in the HSC, at the Australian Parliament House;- Organise the Egyptian Cultural Festival at Darling Harbour, Sydney, and sharing our heritage with fellow Australians for the past 16 years;- Establish a network of Egyptian community professionals to provide help and advice to the Australian Egyptian community;- Establish a network of Egyptian fine artists, and promoting modern Egyptian arts, such as those exhibited at the Australian Parliament House; and- Embark on strategies for leadership, and youth development programs, sponsored and supported by the Community Relations Commission.
