The Basement was set up in the late 1990's to respond to the needs of homeless people in Liverpool City Centre. Today the range of services we offer has expanded to include provision for:- Those people on the brink of homelessness, - People experiencing homelessness for the first time and - Those deeply ingrained in homelessness and associated behaviours.We believe in providing a holistic care pathway to our service users to help them overcome the cycle of homelessness, services include:- Out-reach support to engage with rough sleepers on their 'turf'- Hospital liaison - Evening drop in support - opportunity to shower, seek advice, be referred to partner services- The Hub Service – created in relation to the national ‘No Second Night Out' campaign for first time rough sleepers- NHS onsite treatment room - Counselling and therapeutic provision to help service users deal with their individual issues- Training – including volunteer or Peer Mentor courses - which can also lead to NVQ qualifications- Residential detox programme.
