The Bearded Vets started when Marine Corps veteran Shannon Davis left the Corps to enter the civilian workforce. He, like his predecessors before him, grew out that glorious EAS facial hair. Shannon has a wiry, unruly type of facial hair, so he turned to his friends for help, they all recommended beard oil. After buying several that were chock full of crap, he looked up what oils have been used since egyptian times and started making his own.After he went from goatee to full beard, the need for something conditioning was of paramount import. So a spark of inspiration lead him to start DIY crafting his own.His closest friends were his guinea pigs and in short order they went from testers to evangelists, as this stuff shaped up to be everything they needed.In talking with his wife about selling it to perpetuate making more for friends, she said, "If you're going to do this, do it right," and The Bearded Vets was born.
