Belvedere House was a Chambres d'hộtes. It has 4 doubles bedrooms and a family suite for 5 people, all with private bathrooms, that can accomodate 14 people. It also has an independent Studio apartment that is part of the 1774 building. It is located on a quiet road near the centre Quarante. The Belvedere opened as a Chambres d'hộte in late 2009 after 5 years of total renovation of the 18th Century building. It achieved Tripadvisor's ‘Certificate of Excellence' for 6 years and was the #1 listed Chambres d'hộte in the area.I closed the business in 2017 to concentrate on renovating another house and having finished renovating that house I now wish to either rent or sell my home to those that wish to explore, or live, in this beautiful area of France. Quarante is situated on a hill surrounded by the vineyards of Languedoc-Roussillon (the largest wine-producing region in the world,740300 acres) with views south to the Pyrenees and north to the ‘Montagne Noire'. Quarante is 20 mins by car to Beziers, Narbonne and St Chinian. The Canal du Midi is a short walk or bicycle ride away. The region was extensively developed by the Romans and is noted for their legacy. The ‘Via Domitia' being just one example. Quarante has two butchers, a baker, a chemist, a Doctor, a Dentist, a self-service mini market, a newsagent, a clothes shop, a gift shop, a TV repair shop and two schools and a population of 1500. So it is a thriving, picturesque, and typical French village. We are lucky to have an excellent restaurant a short walk from the village, and Bar 40(Quarante) does an excellent value 3 course midday meal for €14 . There is a regular bus route services Beziers, which stops in other local villages en-route. There are many beaches within a half hour drive. There are 9 airports that service the area.
