The Bluegrass Opera is a 501(c)(3) non-profit professional performing arts company for the 21st century. We use music and words to inspire, educate, entertain, and unite people, regardless of how different their backgrounds may be. We develop, premiere, and champion new and under-performed works for the musical stage -- operas, musicals, and everything in between. Our mission is:1. To develop, premiere, and champion deserving new works for the musical stage that will enrich, educate, and entertain our diverse community;2. To establish central Kentucky as a globally-known hub for such works, both among creative professionals and among theater-going audiences;3. To provide professional opportunities for artists of all ages and backgrounds in the production of new musical stage works.
