Executive Office - Dallas, Texas, United States
This book is dedicated to the hundreds of board directors, executives, and managers that I have had the honor to serve with on fiduciary boards of directors over the last five decades. Collectively these men and women have demonstrated the best in American corporate governance, and unfortunately, at times, some not-so-good behavior. However, I have studied and tried to learn from it (them) all. This entire body of knowledge and experience has taught me many hard-learned and sometimes expensive lessons, and allowed me to better understand the demands of good corporate governance. Thank you one and all. I am honored to have served with each of you. There are three individuals without whom I might not have found the perseverance to complete this book. Thank you especially to Jim Kristie, Max Toy and Bill Bergeron for their counsel, inspiration and help.Special thanks go to my wife Angelia, who is much smarter than I, and still teaching me the principals of good governance – especially at the family level; and my daughter Sydney who at age eleven inspired me when she self-published a book of her own poetry, and again at thirteen published a children's book. God bless you all.
