The Boaz Trust is a holistic support service for destitute refused asylum seekers and refugees in Greater Manchester. We provide accommodation, living essentials, practical and emotional support, access to legal advice and medical care, and a programme of well being activities. Our accommodation provision currently includes 16 shared houses, a local hosting scheme and a winter night shelter. We have a team of 15 full and part time staff members, and over 300 volunteers, the majority of whom ensure our winter night shelters run smoothly and effectively from October to March each year.In 2016-17 we provided a total of 21,215 nights of accommodation to 162 homeless refugees and asylum seekers from more than 30 countries.We recognise that the asylum system in the UK is flawed, and so we speak up with and for asylum seekers and refugees, and advocate for their rights. We seek to work alongside all of like mind, and particularly the Christian Church, to bring about a just and compassionate asylum system.
