The Boston Computer Society was the world's largest personal computer user organization. Founded in 1977, the Society grew to more than 32,000 members in all 50 United States and 57 countries. It sponsored more than 100 user and special-interest groups, and featured the world public debuts of many of personal computing's many milestone products, including VisiCalc (the first electronic spreadsheet), Lotus 1-2-3, and the Apple Macintosh.
