Effective March 31, 2020, The Business Council of Fairfield County has begun winding down operations. For five decades, The Business Council mobilized Fairfield County's business, political and community leadership around issues critical to the region's viability as a business location.Formed in 1970 by the merger of three organizations, the oldest of which had been founded in 1890, The Business Council worked to secure public policies that met Fairfield County's economic interests and needs; built business and media knowledge of the regional economy; supported innovation and entrepreneurship in order to accelerate business growth and job creation; modernized and expanded our physical infrastructure; developed, nurtured and retained a diverse talent pool; and provided members with business, professional and personal development opportunities.
