The Cecilia Chorus of New York is a non-profit arts organization based in New York, NY. A widely recognized, highly regarded mixed chorus with approximately 150 members, the chorus has been enriching New York's musical life for over 100 years. Winner of the 2015 ASCAP Chorus America Alice Parker Award, the chorus has presented semi-annual concerts at Carnegie Hall with professional orchestra and soloists since 1969. CC|NY's repertoire spans four centuries, and includes commissions and world premieres of new music by some of today's most promising composers. Since 2011, the chorus has been led by Music Director Mark Shapiro, a six-time ASCAP Programming Award winner and professor at both The Juilliard School and Mannes College at the New School for Music. Membership by audition is open to all.
