The Center for Mapping and Analysis at the Community College of Baltimore County is an initiative that will build on the established successes of the Geospatial Applications Program at the Community College of Baltimore County. The core mission of the Center for Mapping and Analysis @ CCBC is to provide cost-effective fee-for-service support including mapping services, mapping support and analysis, etc. to non-profit organizations and community groups.Contained within the School of Technology, Art and Design at the Community College of Baltimore County the Center for Mapping and Analysis @ CCBC will promote community partnerships, faculty-mentored student research, project support and training for non-profit organizations, the college community, and all interested stakeholders to promote community based problem solving and community stewardship. Specifically, the mission of The Center for Mapping and Analysis at the Community College of Baltimore County will be • To promote and foster the use of GIS technology in support of non-profit organizations, the college, and all interested stakeholders and their missions, • To encourage interdisciplinary collaboration among non-profit groups and organizations, the college, and interested stakeholders in the community who can benefit from using geographical information and spatial analysis, • To promote, and develop a geographic information system resource for non-profit organizations, the college, and interested stakeholders and local decision makers and the general public, • To continually improve applications and data and evolve with the advances in technology.
