The Center provides free, 24-hour confidential help to women, men and children who have experienced sexual assault. Our mission is to provide counseling and support services to victims of sexual violence and to eliminate sexual violence through community-wide education programs. Since 1979, we have been providing services to the eight towns of lower Fairfield County: Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Stamford, Weston, Westport, and Wilton. All of our services are available in English and Spanish and are free of charge. Our Services:• 24-hour Crisis Hotline: staffed with Certified Sexual Assault Crisis Counselors• Individual Short-Term Counseling• Support groups: separate groups for survivors and their families. • Advocacy: we can meet clients at hospitals/police stations to support & aid in the evidence collection examination, making a police statement, etc. We also offer support & accompaniment to guide clients through the court process and judicial proceedings• Community Education: During the 2011 – 2012 fiscal year, The Center provided risk reduction education to more than 10,000 individuals in Lower Fairfield County. Education programs reach: elementary, middle and high school students, college students, and the community at large including: police forces, medical professionals, parents, teachers, social workers, camp counselors, religious leaders, guidance counselors, and more.
