The Center for Teaching and Learning in Community (CTLC), part of Stony Brook University's School of Professional Development, provides P-12 teacher and administrator workshops and programs that empower, inspire and mentor the teaching community.CTLC's mission is to bring together various educational communities to form a new, broader and more expansive community of educators to rebuild, transform, and reimagine the educational community.We work with K-12 district and building administration, teacher centers, other universities, teacher training organizations, and individual teachers to provide research-based resources, support, and training. Our educational focus areas include:• Professional Development• Research & Scholarship• Educational Technology Research & Development• Outreach & Strategic Partnerships• District Memberships are available, and can be customized based on the district's needsThe workshops offered as part of our professional development focus are designed and delivered by experts in the field, vetted by Stony Brook University's School of Professional Development (SPD), well-known for its high quality of educational programming. SPD is home to Stony Brook University's graduate programs in education, enrolling hundreds of students in graduate degree and certificate curricula leading to teacher and administrator certification, and serves as a leading resource for educators across the region.CTLC is a NY State approved provider of Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) credits.
