At The Champagne Cellar, we believe that smaller independent producers and their boutique wines are the most authentic and the greatest expressions of Champagne. The Champagne Cellar is a collection of excellent Champagnes and terroirs, a collection proposed from Reims in France and imported directly to the Australian market. The Australian market is disproportionally dominated by huge Maisons, a rare example in the world of Champagne. The share of the market that France is giving to RM Champagnes (Récoltant Manipulant aka Grower Champagnes, like the ones sold on our website) is ten-fold larger than the Australian one. For this and other reasons, you have been drinking wines that very rarely express any winemaking, vintage or terroir influences and, once again and because of that, we have all missed a huge part of the diversity of this enchanting world has to offer. Some drinkers like their drinks to be always the same, we respect that. Not all of us, though. The Independent Vignerons we bring to the Australian market source grapes exclusively from their own vineyards, process the wine on their own premises and market the brand under their own label.To preserve the variety of this incredible viticultural universe, we need to help these growers to survive and thrive in our country.In the exclusive world of Champagne, elaborated by the Vignerons Indépendant, each Cuvées represented in our collection is emblematic of its terroir, of the passionate work of an artist and it has been ageing at least for 36 months.Each Cuvée is the result of careful and long research and meticulous and continuous quality control.The approach we have chosen is didactic: each Cuvée has a detailed description that accompanies the tasting, with suggestions for pairing with the most suitable foods to complete the picture.
