CCHS is a non-profit, volunteer organization of approximately 300 members. We provide resources for historical research and sponsor a variety of activities to promote public interest in, and knowledge of, Chevy Chase's history. Our collection resides at the Archive and Research Center on the lower level of the Chevy Chase Library at 8005 Connecticut Avenue. The Chevy Chase Historical Society (CCHS) collects, records, interprets and shares materials relating to the history of Chevy Chase, Maryland, one of America's first streetcar suburbs. Founded in 1981, the non-profit volunteer organization provides resources for historical research and sponsors a variety of programs and activities to foster knowledge and appreciation of the community's history.
