Civic & Social Organization - Fairfield, California, United States
The Children's Network of Solano County is a 501(c)3 agency that was founded in 1982 in response to community demand for better oversight of children's services. Children constitute about one third of Solano County's population, yet they have no vote. Our purpose is to assure there is a strong, united, independent voice for all of our children.\\Since its inception, the Children's Network has worked to improve the lives of children in Solano County. Once an organization focused primarily on low-income and foster children, the Children's Network has evolved into the leading voice for all young people in Solano County. We provide support to one of California's first and most effective inter-agency coordinating councils, the Solano Children's Alliance, and to our County's Local Child Care Planning Council, \\The Children's Network works to educate people in Solano County about the needs of children and to bring together those who can help achieve the best outcomes for kids. In promoting the health, education, and well-being of all children in the county, the Children's Network conducts and disseminates research, offers training, administers grants, coordinates with county agencies, advocates for policy changes, and works to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of services for children and families countywide.\\Government, families, or private organizations working alone cannot accomplish as much to improve the lives of Solano County children as they would if they worked together. The Children's Network supports and promotes these positive partnerships.
